We have spoke the Queens who have advised us:
-We can have up to 12 people playing
-Two groups of 6 only-no interchange between groups on the night
-We have to play downstairs in two designated separate areas
Anyone interested to test this out on the 21st?
Let Roy know (use roy1gray@yahoo.co.uk to reply please)
Following the recent Government Announcements , it will not be possible to resume the Chess Club until further notice. Given that the Government and the Cabinet are World Class ,it is not envisage that we will be able to open anytime soon , probably next year would be realistic.

Club Re-Opening
We aim to start the Chess Club in September 2020 .Given the Government has no control of the virus and has tightened rules, it is unlikely we will see limited opening first. We don't envisage a proper opening anytime soon.
We will need to the following whatever the Government Covid “rules” are at the time. These are very confusing so obviously people will have to follow their common sense.
The Landlord wants up to hour to talk to us and check we are obeying the rules as they stand before/as we start.
Rules include :-
· No close standing groups.
· Masks will be required
· No standing behind people playing.
.No wandering table to table.
.No close audiences.
· Wipes for sets between games.
· Hand sanitiser will need to be used.
· Clean table down between changing people.
· Same with sets.
General
Thanks to those who sent opinions. Roy, Tony Soames, Tony Lane, Jake, John-Paul, Mick, Ant and Carl expressed a willingness to play at the club.
Geoff has the clocks and, if players want them at the club, will willing pass them on - let him know.
An AGM at this time is impossible to organise easily - we have an unfinished season in both league and club senses and we don't have plans going forward. Never-the-less thanks to Rob, J-P and Phil for expressing a willingness to continue as captains in due course.
Roy suggests we should not charge any membership fees for the 2020-21 season however it pans out and this can be confirmed later at a AGM or similar
In order to keep the venue onside, those playing on Mondays should buy a drink (even if non-alcoholic!) just to help. There normally have not been many customers on Mondays, so please finish in good time!
